Council of Heads of Australasian Herbaria |
Born: 28 May, 1845 at St Erme, Cornwall, England; died: 15 February, 1912 at Kew, Victoria, Australia, (aged 66).
Assuming they are the same person, the RBG Sydney herbarium collector database gives his occupation as "Forest Inspector, Active in years 1870 - 1884, and collected in NSW, NEW CALEDONIA; PHILIPPINES".
While Flora Malesiana says "official of the Botanic Gardens at Sydney, who collected Nephrolepis duffii, T. Moore, in Duke of York Island (Bismark Archipelago)" which is off the northeastern coast of New Guinea.
However, at the time of writing this profile, AVH does not include any collections in Australian herbaria outside of mainland Australia.
